Ayushmann Khurrana (born 14 September 1984) is an Indian film actor and singer, who started his career as a television anchor. In 2012, Khurrana made his film debut in Shoojit Sircar's romantic comedy Vicky Donor, which touched on the topic of sperm donation in India. Upon release, the film was a critical and commercial success.
Khurrana is a native of Punjab, and studied at St. Johnís High School and DAV College in Chandigarh. He majored in English literature and has a master's degree in Mass Communication from School of Communication Studies, Panjab University, in Chandigarh. He did serious theatre for five years. He was also the founder member of DAV Collegeís "Aaghaaz" and "Manchtantra", which are active theatre groups in Chandigarh. He has conceptualised and acted in street plays and won prizes in national college festivals like Mood Indigo (IIT Bombay), Oasis (Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani) and St. Bedes Simla. He also won a Best Actor award for playing Ashwatthama in Dharamvir Bharatiís Andha Yug.
